Hello,
My name is Kayla Wright, I am a graduate of The University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF) where I pursued a degree in Marketing & Communications with an emphasis in agriculture and a minor in Dairy Science. I hail from Watertown, WI in Jefferson County where I grew up on my family's 200 head, 300 acre Registered Holstein/Brown Swiss dairy farm. On the farm my duties entail; calf care, proper milking procedures, breeding selections, and promotion work. My younger sister and I have promoted our herd by exhibiting our cattle at district, state and national shows. I am responsible for all promotional advertisements placed in dairy publications-both state and national. Promoting the agricultural industry has always been a goal of mine and I am grateful that I have been given an artistic talent to do so. While assisting an agricultural based graphic designer out of college, I have utilized her style and technique to now help others and my family promote their cattle, or agricultural purpose, in numerous publications and promotional features. In addition to graphic promotional materials, I have also picked up photography to aid in the promotion of agriculture along with my past time. Currently I am the Communications Specialist for Accelerated Genetics/Select Sires in Baraboo, WI. My duties entail coordinating promotional materials for their bull, product and services line up, capture photographs at cooperative events and at the bull stud in Westby, WI and recommend print and electronic promotional material that will increase sales. I work along side my communications team to ensure that Accelerated Genetics/Select Sires offers the best products and genetics to our customers. When I am not working, I enjoy freelance photography specializing in agricultural landscapes, senior and engagement sessions, more recently truck pulling photography, being a 4-H dairy leader, attending and showing at cattle shows and volunteering at my hometown county level for the dairy youth of Jefferson County. I hope to continue to develop my herd of Registered Black and White and Red and White cattle on my familys' dairy farm. |
